0th October 2006."Well I did it.What a goal..the feeling of running down the finishing straight with crowd cheering was unbelievable. (Check out my time #5550 at aucklandmarathon.co.nz).
Last May I could, at a push, run for 10mins. Have a look at that time.. nearly two & a half hours for 21km, amazing. The training programme is great..& I did the whole programme at home on a treadmill.. this was my first run on the road..it can be done. I had plenty left in my ticker.. just my legs were really struggling. At 55, if I can start from nothing.. anyone can do this. The whole organisation of the event is great.. nothing is left to chance. Next year.. maybe the whole marathon (the legs say no way.. the head says go for it!)
